I have long, thick hair. If I don’t blow dry it straight, it dries frizzy. I prefer the way my hair looks when it’s straight and smooth, but most of the time I let it dry naturally, especially in the summer when blow drying it makes me hot and sweaty.
There are a lot of products out there that are supposed to get rid of frizz and I’ve tried several. Some of them leave my hair feeling sticky and others leave my hair feeling hard and crunchy. The best product I’ve found so far for frizzy hair is Aveda Smooth Infusion Naturally Straight creme. This creme keeps my hair smooth and straight AFTER blow drying, but I also use it when I let my hair dry naturally.
The product bottle says that it “progressively straightens curls for a straight style.” It does not straighten my curls when I let my hair air dry, but it does take the frizz away. I like the way my hair looks and feels when I use this product. It does not make my hair feel sticky, or hard and crunchy. I get a lot of compliments on my hair when I use this product, too.
In the past, to keep my hair smooth and straight, I have gone to the salon for a Brazillian Blowout, but I’ve stopped doing that for three reasons: 1) The problems I have in my back make it hard to sit in a chair for four hours, 2) it’s really expensive, and 3) the chlorine from my pool doesn’t let the blowout last as long as it should. So, now I leave the waves in my hair and let it air dry. I’ve purchased other products specifically for frizz, but I keep going back to the Aveda Smooth Infusion creme, because that’s what works.
